Nooo! Popcorn Between My Teeth:(

The Following is the sliding scale of my movie experience in 2007. It goes from standout Worst to gleaming best. plus a little of what I thought about each.

1/10 SPIDERMAN 3  I would probably enjoy spiderman if not for one thing…….. Tobey Maguire, this guys so called acting grates the hell outta me soo much that I could not bear to watch the whole film.

2/10 The Simpsons Movie  While i love the TV show, its apparent after so long on the air it not in its prime anymore. this movie Wasn’t even close to being as funny as a Simpsons movie should have been, I think the energy spent on this needed to be put into reigniting the series.

3/10 Rush Hour 3  Jackie Chan’s pension and possibly Chris Tuckers too! In the mood for cheese look no further.

4/10 I am Legend  The classic 70’s post apocalyptic and Zombie movies have nothing to fear from this modern interpretation, poor for action and doesn’t compensate by going deep on the plot and character development either, saved only by the screen presence of Will Smith. Title should been “Alone With Will Smith” at least you know there’s a plot then.

5/10 Die Hard 4  Average action thriller, and a good watch if your a fan of the previous. i love action films that go out of their way not to use cgi unless a shot merits it plus the authenticity real stunts give a film like this. John McClane just suffers from the bar being set higher by one Jason Bourne.

6/10 Sunshine  The year is not complete without some kind of space scifi movie blowing your tiny mind. In previous years there has been event horizon, solaris, and a classic like contact, sunshine fills the niche just nice for 2007. check it out!

7/10 Hot Fuzz Love theses guys. action comedy movies based in the UK, by people from here and with a wicked imagination good stuff! maybe not the labour of love Shaun of the dead was, but still (i like what these guys have done so much I’m speechless).

8/10 Transformers As we move from good to great. I loved this movie, Maybe more than most due to my age, I remember the cartoons as a kid , though i wasn’t so into Transformers that i had any actions figures, I was more a turtles kid. but this movie satisfies everything a blockbuster should . cgi was so good my eyes near bled, story top notch though a little long in the tooth, and its saving grace not to take itself too seriously.

9/10 The Bourne Ultimatium  The Bourne series is one of my favorite of all time and it concluded very well this year. Its Butt clenching and Nail biting 2 hour grip-fest. had me enthralled , the story was just what was needed and felt right, though the romantic thread felt a little contrived compared to what went before in the series. just a great great film and only misses my top spot due to it lacking that more cinematic moment or explosive send off!

10/10 300 My movie of 2007. Epic movie and instant classic. Gladiator meets Sin City. This film has great acting, is a feast for the eyes and does what all classics do, leave you wanting more but in the good way , not the this film isn’t finished way. Notable scenes in Particular are the “This is Sparta” scene at the beginning which I see echoes of its delivery imitated already  in the same year by Beowulf.

If anything of what I’ve said remotely peeks your interest, go check it out. Plus Films that I’ve heard good things about and that might have made this final list had I seen then in time include: Ratatouille, Knocked up,  Once and There Will Be Blood.
